Hi.
If you have uninstalled Real Alternative, and don't have Real
Player, you cannot play real content. You need either to reinstall Real
Alternative and the Tara plug-in, or to install Real Player.
If you install Real Alternative/Tara, I'd suggest getting a program
like Quickmix
http://www.jfwlite.com/QuickMixIn.EXE
and seeing why your volume is being reduced or muted, and which
program is reducing or muting it.

Hi,
it gives you the option of having many mixer configurations that you quickly
can switch between.
For example you have one where you have good microphone settings and another
for recording from line in and so on.
It's a nice and easy to use tool.

Best regards

The latest recommendations coming from the winamp for the blind list is to
install real player 10 or 10.5, windows media player and winamp 5.05.

All co-exist quite nicely these days and each can be configured only to
play
what you want them to play.

I personally have all of these programs installed and have no problems.

The Tara plug in is well out of date and threads on this now unsupported
plug in just don't go anywhere.

that's a real shame because it's really accessible.
that's the problemw ith alternatives for programs like real player. they
don't have the code sources so, to put it this way, no-one but you is

i'm not a pattent or copyright freak yet, for my system's safety I prefer

Besides I can support windows media files with real player as windows media

 Hi.
You'll need two programs to play Real audio in Winamp, not just Real
Alternative. You need the Tara plug-in for Winamp as well as Real
 Alternative. Download Tara from
 http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=349s=221
 and Real Alternative from
 http://whitestick.co.uk/progs/realalternative127.exe
Be sure that all versions of Real player are uninstalled from your
system when you install Real Alternative.

winamp canot play real audio content. I saw a plug-in once allowing to

Anyway we can find nothing on the plug-in section of winamp.com.

Re: Playing Real Audio content

2004-11-01 Thread Kevin Lloyd
The latest recommendations coming from the winamp for the blind list is to
install real player 10 or 10.5, windows media player and winamp 5.05.

All co-exist quite nicely these days and each can be configured only to play
what you want them to play.

I personally have all of these programs installed and have no problems.

The Tara plug in is well out of date and threads on this now unsupported
plug in just don't go anywhere.

RE: Playing Real Audio content

2004-10-31 Thread Aman Singer
Hi, Doug.
If you install Real Player 10, you must use that for playing Real
content.
If you want to play Real content with Winamp, you must install Real
Alternative and the Tara plug-in. This is the only way to play Real content
with Winamp that I know of.

If I install Real Player 10, and already have Winamp 5.05 installed,
will winamp play real audio content?
Or are there other steps I must take?
Thanks in advance. I know this must sound pretty basic to some of you, but,

please be patient!

read real audio content but I would never guarantee that it works. Anyway
we can find nothing on the plug-in section of winamp.com.
it ahs to do with copyright and pattent issues. so I think you'll have to

RE: Playing Real Audio content

2004-10-31 Thread Aman Singer
Hi.
You'll need two programs to play Real audio in Winamp, not just Real
Alternative. You need the Tara plug-in for Winamp as well as Real
Alternative. Download Tara from
 http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=349s=221
and Real Alternative from
 http://whitestick.co.uk/progs/realalternative127.exe
Be sure that all versions of Real player are uninstalled from your
system when you install Real Alternative.

I tried this on winamp4the blind with no results. Perhaps someone here can
help me.
I have the latest winamp installed on my win xp system with jfw 5.10.
I had Real Alternative also, but when a real audio stream came up,
The thing hijacked my volume control, turning my waveout right off.
So, I uninstalled Real Alternative. My problem is that I can't play any
real audio content.
The Real Alternative player is called media player classic, I think.
I can't use the tara plug-in, so I'm told.
What can I do to get ra, rj, ram, etc files to play??
