Nope, at least not on win98 it's not.. Disabled startup
items can be empty, and you'll still have the previously
checked, now unchecked items still in the 'startup' tab under
MSCONFIG. I've sometimes wondered myself how to remove them,
but never got into it. I would guess they can be removed
This works for many entries-you'll find more in the registry at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices-
win.ini
system.ini
I should add the usual warnings about editing the registry here.
Wholesale removal of these entries can have serious effects.
It does no harm to leave these entries, and I have found it useful to
re-enable them at times.
Win.ini and system.ini are text files usually found in C:\windows.

D,
This must be done from the registry. Get the program name from msconfig,
then open regedit.
It is best to click 'registry', then export registry file and choose a
location.
If somehow you have problems after booting, you will need to double click
this back up copy to hopefully repair the

Fellow PCWorkers,
Is it possible to search the Internet for a page just knowing some of
the text on that page? Are there any search engines that provide that
convenience?

Hi Everyone,
I want to register a domain name for someone else as a gift. It will be for
their business. I did a search and there were so many to choose from, could
any of you good people suggest some good companies for registering domain
names? And some pros and cons too?
Thanks in advance,
That's the way SE's mostly work now from what I see. All of
them use word frequency in the message body to some point,
some more than others. Every time I search the net for
something, my results are always ON the pages that turn up in
the hits. They are placing more and more precedence on the
I use www.registerclub.com @ $10. Another popular one is
http://godaddy.com @ $8.95. At registerclub there is no
'redtape' and you can at anytime login and administrate any of
your domains (change contact info, DNS, PRI and SEC name
servers, etc). I don't know if godaddy is like that or not.
