Hi list,
I finally solved the problem:
Upgrading to the newest versions of jack and pd in Debian Etch
miraculously enabled me to start pd with jack.
Pd with alsa alone still doesn't work - any explanations?
Thanks, Matthias

Hallo Ypatios!
I only found some soundfonts on the Internet. Does anyone know a way to
extract the samples from a soundfont?
hm ... don't know ...
But there is also the fluidsynth external for pd (it's called fluid, by
frank barknecht) with that you can play the soundfonts in pd.
And here

Hi,
This bash trick might help you find your port number. You can use the
file name too.

Hi Hans-Christoph,
don't know if this is relevant in your case, but the portaudio v19
ringbuffer code (in portaudio SVN) is still somehow broken for OSX 10.3.
This can result in crashes at startup, but may be worked around by
some preprocessor defines, which make the implementation more or
Hooray! More Pd music!
I find this kind of ambient/glitch techno is perfect music for programming
to. Some really original minimalistic sounds in there, it's very sparse
unlike my music, I find that refreshing - each sound comes as a surprise
, I like the way rythmns build up and dissolve again.
Yes yes! Where's the always-provided Pd patch?

I started cataloging the variations in font and box sizes in Pd. Its
rough. Please add your information to this collection:

Description: Binary data
Anyone want to work to solve this? I'd really like to get this fixed
in the soon-to-be-released Pd-0.39.2-extended.
Also, the latest version of [comport] has the [devices( message which
will print out available ports to the Pd window.

Hello,
It should be much easier if you checked the release branch:
mkdir pure-data
cd pure-data
cvs co -r branch-v0-39-2-extended abstractions
cvs co -r branch-v0-39-2-extended doc
cvs co -r branch-v0-39-2-extended extensions
cvs co -r

I'll second Andy's comments - this is some good stuff! Excellent use of
filters to create and move about in sonic space.
BTW is it cool to occasionally link to tracks on the main list? Does
PD-announce have lots of this? I would love to hear whatever people are up
to with pd.
