[PD] Learning PD and creating a looper by example

Hey Guys, I'm relatively new to Pure Data and aside from a brief flirtation with Max/MSP, I don't have much experience with graphical programming. I've read the manual and understand the fundamentals, but I was wondering if anybody knew any good sites to learn with given examples and whatnot.

So if you guys had to choose THE best linux distribution for PD and audio applications only in a LIVE PERFORMANCE with a laptop, which would it be? I'm to figure out the best distribution for my live performances with my laptop. Would a 64bit system be much better than a 32bit system? I'm
