I would dearly love others to contribute, and I'll hopefully be presenting the

get there.

It'll be in the subversion repository when v3 is done, along with a guide to
the principles by which metastudio objects might be developed by others (i.e. I
don't want to be the only one doing this any more), so there are some ways in
which I'm trying to create more than just a set of objects (check out
metapatch.pd)

I'm working on help files for all objects. Some are quite complex (such as the
sequencing objects that require two storage objects for the whole database and
an exra one for the current pattern) but there is a whole lot of functionality
built in, such as a new patern copies the current pattern, and user-defined
modular synthesis patches can have state-saving mechanisms (modpatch.pd)

Sorry it's not all there, but it will be by the PD convention (19th-26h July,
Sao Paulo, Brazil)

As for Metavj, well, that'll be finished also. No help files yet, sorry!

When passwords and permissions were first added to computers, lots of

have everyone set their passwords to the same thing. Too bad we need
all these passwords... I suppose permissions are useful for

Re: [PD] call for test: MIDI on Mac OS X

2009-05-22 Thread Mike Moser-Booth

Hello,

I believe the IAC inconsistency is not Pd related. I've found it has
inaccurate timing using other apps as well. However, there has always
been a bit of latency transmitting MIDI via IAC using Pd that does not
happen with other apps. I've heard people using Windows having a
similar
problem when using something like MIDIyoke. Running Pd in jack mode
seems to help the situation, though not completely fix it.

there may be a lot of stranded pluggo aficionados annoyed that pluggo
is going the way of the dodo, looking for pastures new (but familiar).

I've used and really liked pdvst. but got ultimately annoyed at the
silly non-aligning graph-on-parent behaviour of the old version of pd
that comes with it on the http://crca.ucsd.edu/~jsarlo/pdvst/ site

Mr. Sarlo? is it possible to do a more recent binary build of this
excellent tool?

I think you may have a lot of former pluggo developers (who definitely
are an imaginative bunch) converting to pd if this is possible. Mostly
because of the demise of Pluggo and perhaps because of the expensive
prices of the Max 5 upgrade and however much £'s Max for Live will
cost.

There are some minor differences between the Max/MSP version and this Pd

 - a fifth inlet/outlet was added for 'gain' but since this provided no

include that in the Pd port.

 - the Max/MSP version only has arguments for the 2nd and 3rd inlets

Its in the nightly Pd-extended builds, or in SVN:

Excellent! Do you know if there are plans for a gmerlin_avdecoder
release any time soon? That will make the Fink/Mac OS X
packaging a

lot
easier. It might make it more likely that the Debian/Multimedia
package
gets updated too.

I don't think there are any plans to make a release any time soon.
leider.

Hmm, I think its probably best to then to check the avdec sources
into
the same folder as readanysf~ and build it from there. Its not
included
in Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora. Then once it is included, that
source can
be removed. The rest of the dependencies are in Debian, Ubuntu,
Fedora,

and Fink, I think, so they can be used that way.

What would be the advantage of doing that?

we just put in a lot of effort to make the fink packages...and they
should work just fine. why don't we keep it like it is and not do
extra work, extra svn magic. the latest commits to gmerlin_avdec will
be released soon enough.

also, debian users can use debian packages from
http://debian-multimedia.org

or better yet, how about making a package for Mac and win that
includes

the linked libraries as binaries? Or, do you want to make a giant
static build? I still don't understand how the binary packages are
made on mac and win.

We could check the CVS code into the 'sources' and build that for
Windows, and we could also make a Fink package based on a CVS
tarball. But then we'd be without avdec packages for Fedora and
Ubuntu, and Debian users would be required to setup Debian Multimedia
to use Pd-extended. And the Debian Multimedia packages wouldn't have
the movie crasher bug fix either.

So for about the same work as importing the source code and building
it for Windows, we can have the most recent avdec on all platforms.
Then once there is another release of avdec, I'll happily update the
Fink package. And once avdec makes it into Debian, Ubuntu and Fedora,
we can use it there.

From my experience, the easiest path to supporting readanysf~ on all
of the Pd-extended platforms would be to import the avdec code into
the pure-data SVN and then set it up to build there. That is, unless
IOhannes wants to deploy Gem using gmerlin_avdec sooner rather than
later. That might change things somewhat. But then it might be
easier to use the old GemLibs style of including an external lib.

Try [colorpanel] or I think pdmtl has some convertors.

no. pdmtl just have hex to dec.

I made a [webcolors] object to use with ggee (attached).

Why gcanvas don't work inside graph on parent?
