Yes, definitely in the category of “annoying” and not “critical”. I haven’t done any Tcl programming, but I’ll take a look, for what it’s worth. Relevant code? I find that sometimes resizing doesn’t even make the bars go away. Also something that interacts: the offsets for a GOP window. I’ve

You may want to consider trying pd-l2ork which always provides minimal amount of necessary scrollbars for the patch to be fully visible. Further, it offers easy per-patch-window way to hide menu, scrollbars, and disabling resizing of the window. Best, Ico On 5/2/2019 1:23 PM, Philip Stone

Yes, it's annoying. No, it's not been easy to figure out what's going on. Feel free to play with the Tcl and help fix it. Easiest thing to do for now is to resize the window and the bars go away. Also, works to have a little bit of space padding out the sides. > On May 2, 2019, at 7:39 PM,

With the current scrollbar appearance logic, creating patches with tight window margins is difficult. I experience similar issues to what you describe on Linux. It seems the scrollbars make themselves necessary only because they appear and then only disappear if you significantly increase the

Ah, I see that Roman and Dan Wilcox were discussing this back in September. It seems to be one of those thorny UI problems that is hard to solve. From: Philip Stone Date: Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 9:48 AM To: "pd-list@lists.iem.at" Subject: patch scroll bars In the last few versions of Pd (on

[PD] patch scroll bars

In the last few versions of Pd (on OS X at least -- I can’t speak for the other platforms), the behavior of patch window scrollbars seems somewhat confusing. It used to be easy to size a patch window so that there would be no scrollbars, but now I can’t figure out what the trick is to do that.
