Re: [PD] [vstplugin~] on a RPI 3 ? ...

Ah, yes. Using Windows VST plugins on a Raspberry Pi is certainly a fun
idea :-)

Actually, [vstplugin~] has a built-in plugin bridge and winelib is also
available for ARM, so you would not even need a third-party plugin wrapper.

The first step, however, is to add Linux ARM support to [vstplugin~].
This should be rather trivial, given that Apple M1 is already supported.
Please open a feature request on GitLab!

Actually no, i thought i'd like to try [vstplugin~] first, and see how
far i will get ;-)

there is an article about using vsts on a PI

so i figured there must be some possibility to do so

will do some more research

anyway, thanks for your quick reply !

Wow, can I have that version too? What does it feature? :-)

deken doesn't find any files compiled for ARM.
trying "apt install pd-vstplugin~" doesn't work either

Usually, deb package names omit the ~. But there is also no 'pd-
vstplugin' in Debian/Raspbian/Raspberry Pi OS.

Do i have to try to compile it myself ?

I tried and failed at:

/home/pi/pd-src/vstplugin/vst/Search.cpp:77:4: error: #error "CPU architecture not
supported (yet)"
77 | #error "CPU architecture not supported (yet)"
   |^

Or do i need a newer system ?

Probably not. I wonder if it is possible at all to compile it on archs
that are not explicitly supported by the VST SDKs.
