Had some camera spotting today. Check that old Pentax point and shoot the
pink Polaroid. I guess color cameras isn’t such a novel idea after all. Also,
Central Camera had a red Pentax Q—was it cute. First time I was able to play
with one! Very fun!

It doesn't have a very dark background, so matrix worked fairly well. I'd guess
that
had you used spot metering on it's body, you would have gained the desired
additional feather detail.
I do think it's a good shot as is.

it's easy to bring out the white in conversion. But spot metering is not always

I know, the 18% gray is what I can use to restore detail as I chose. You're
right, spot metering is truly a wing shooting sport.
I use it for the occasional (OK, rare) accidental direct hit. Seems it would
have been ideal in Peter's case.
