A very interesting well captured set, Rick. A lot going on there. The use of evergreen Rosemary symbolizing eternal life is an ancient tradition at Christian funerals. I think this explains the festive nature of the procession. The sprigs are thrown into the grave in much the same way as flower

Thans, Rick and Larry. I agree both shots need more post processing. I took these in the evening as they were hardening their wings to fly away, and I was anxious to see what I had, so I ran several through PS quickly so I could select the best one. Now, I need to worn those a bit more. Dan Mat

Maybe I miss remember about the body having a focal plane shutter, it was 40+ years ago, but I was pretty sure that he only used the lens shutters for high speed flash.  In which case the the camera was not lifting the mirror all the way because most of those images were only partially exposed.

As we were returning to our hotel in Toledo, we found our way blocked by a fairly long procession. I suspect that it started at a large church at the top of the hill. The desk staff at the hotel (very nearby) didn’t know what the occasion was, and I was able to learn nothing from Señor Google.

I wish him luck, back in the day, Bronica had the reputation of being the most mechanically unreliable of the makers of Medium Format, film gear.  Their saving graces were that they were supposed to be easily repaired, they were inexpensive to acquire, and Nikon lenses were available for them.
