Theft of Turtle eggs on the Natal north coast & Mozambique coast at night has become a big problem, difficult to stop because the coastlines are so long. Popular egg laying beaches are now under 24hr security. The "nests" are also fenced off so the hatchlings cannot get to the sea. They are

That is true, as I understand it, of other species of sea turtles. Here in Maui, at least, the green sea turtles frequently rest on shore, often in the sun. There are loggerheads and other turtles offshore here, but they do not come on to the beach, and I believe most of them lay their eggs in

Of course. All my backups are on external drives as are most of my working files. I also have Dropbox and iCloud backups of critical files. Paul > On Feb 17, 2023, at 11:16 AM, Larry Colen wrote: > > I hope that is only your first level backups, and you have a couple other > sets of backups

I should clarify that about half of those are backups, so I have only about 3 terabytes of unique images. I don’t know how many that would be, but it includes a lot of unprocessed DNGs and a tiff and jpeg of each rendered image. So it’s irrelevant in comparison to a lightroom catalog. But the

I have approximately 6 terabytes of images on 10 drives, both spinny and ssd. They’re all catalogued in Adobe Bridge, making them easy to access and not dependent on software gymnastics. Paul > On Feb 17, 2023, at 7:28 AM, Rob Studdert wrote: > > Late to the thread, my main LR classic

Using LR Classic, currently at v.12.0.1 My All Photographs catalog is at about 276k images. There are about 262k in a Missing Photographs catalog. I suspect those “missing” images are the ones on my external drives, which I keep turned off mostly. Some of the “missing” are due to a recent

Late to the thread, my main LR classic catalogue currently shows 689k images, I prefer it this way as I'm regularly needing to revisit previous edits and I shoot a lot of recurring jobs. I have no problems with speed during use, though it resides on a fast SSD (7GB/s), the problem is that with
