I have the Pentax version of this lens. As far as I know they are
almost identical.
It is my all purpose lens.
It is pretty good from 18-100, except from some rather heavy
distortion in the widest end.
From 100-150 and up it is a rather mediocre performer. But it is a lot
better than not having
The 18-270 tested at DPR is not the same lens as the 18-250.
My report was about the discontinued 18-250

The DA* is a good standard lens. I love mine, but I don't use it as
much as it deserves.

I had to scroll to see all of it in full resolution. While doing that,
it struck me that cropping away the lower part, to ca 5 x 4 probably
would make it even stronger.

again it brought some nice dynamic tension into the shot.
