I mounted my Super Takumar 300mm F4, using a K mount adapter, put

Best but not necessary, as long as the blurred scene contains similar
gradations and is shot at the same exposure settings it's good enough to serve
to build a noise profile.

I read the above user review, and was a bit surprised at the comments
on lag and slowness. From other things I have read about the *istDS, it
is not so bad as this guy makes it sound. Does it feel as slow as this
