The only issue I've run across is that you will have trouble using SR on
a tripod if bracketing for HDR rendering (Registration will be
distinctly off).

the vertical without hurting in
I think I'd much prefer the view with SR. I don't see it as a disadvantage.

SR in the body has the disadvantage that you can't see the effect
through the viewfinder and just have to trust that it is working.

I have the SMC Takumar M42 1.8 85mm lens and it is one of the best primes I
own in that range and the metal construction is just wonderful to handle. I
