I have it's fraternal twin, the Tamron version, fantastic lens, puts all the primes that went before it to shame performance wise but you have to be mentally prepared to deal with its bulk and weight, it's hulking. On 10 June 2018 at 23:13, Darren Addy wrote: > I know nothing about the Sigma

I’m a bargain hunter myself and really worked that angle before making the decision to go with the 15-30. I already have an FA 20-35 f4, so I was looking for something that would do better . The 20-35 is good at the wide end when stopped down to f8 or 11 and is very good at the long end. But

I'm really glad you posted about using this lens for shooting the milky way. As it turns out the trip I'm taking up north in a couple weeks puts will put me literally about 2 miles away from a dark sky preserve at the tip of Michigan's thumb. I've never tried shooting the milky way before but

I got it intending ti use it for landscapes but the close focusing abilities open up some other opportunities as well. The focal range is also pretty good for use on APS C and if it behaves nicely with infrared it might get some use on my IR converted k01, being a bit wider than the DA 18-55

In many ways, that lens was the biggest reason for me to buy the k-1, in order to get an angle of view, speed, and sharpness that I wouldn't be able to match in aps. I pretty much agree with your impressions. On June 7, 2018 7:49:04 PM PDT, Mark C wrote: >A few days ago I ordered a DFA 15-20
