Plastic bottles like that are so porous that they don't really help.
I had a few of them and tossed them as they are nearly impossible to
clean properly.
I use brown glass bottles sold by chemical supply companies, and fill
the air space by putting clear glass marbles in as I consume

They make bottles with accordion pleats so you can compress the bottle
to exclude air as you use up the contents.
