I tried using feeler gauges to wiggle the pin loose but failed. Eventually
I just twisted it off. It took a lot less force than I was expecting and
the lens mount is undamaged. I threw the lens away.

Whereabouts on the lens mount is the hole the pin has slipped into? Right
now I can't take the lens off to have a look. I'm borrowing some feeler
gauges to do this.

Near the AF switch on the camera body. The pin is stuck in the AF drive
socket. You will
Get rid of the little pin with crazy glue or a pair of pliers and the lens
will work fine.
I've modified a couple of my lenses and *removed* the pin
entirely. On some of them, it's easy to take off the rear flange and
remove the pin/resistor combination. They're usually held on with a
I bought a cheap Sirius 135mm PK-A lens on eBay, when I attempted to fit it
to my MZ-5n it jammed in a position about 30 degrees short of where it
should be. Now it won't come out. It knocks as though something has
locked. On close inspection it turns out to be a PK-R Ricoh-fitting.

Without destroying the camera?
How I did it.
You need a thin razor blade or a feeler gauge. I found the finest blade of
my feeler gauge worked.
Also needed is an adequate supply
Though I won't recommend the method, I just figured the
mount ring was a lot tougher than the P pin.
I was right, it broke right off when I twisted. (hard)
I suppose I could have easily jammed the pin worse but
I wasn't very patient that day. ;-(

So, in the future - stick to Pentax lenses - or at least dedicated for
Pentax (Sigma, Tamron, Tokina).
It's really cheaper :-)

It's not so easy when some nitwit advertises a lens as having a PKa mount,
and you find (after you've attached it to your camera) that it's actually
a PKR. There's usually nothing on the lens itself to tell you.
