There's a market at the e-p1 price point. I have no idea what Leica
would sell this for,
Couple grand USD, as I recall.
but for everyone else it has to be below $1000. Olympus has sold a
bunch of e-p1's at the $800-900
Nice... But i thing the lens is just too black/minimalistic.
I'm looking foreward to getting my K7 :-)
I own just one Leica (Film thing). That's enough.

Price is $2000. Optional extras include a grip and matched OVF. Only
pre-production examples have been seen so far.

slower than expected; no discussion as yet of

$2000, eh? Amazing.
At this point, one can snark about that extreme expense of that little
red L, or point out that small production volumes are bad for your pricing

Agreed Graydon.
I'd take either a W80 or an LX3 types of camera as 'always available' camera.
An LX3 with a 4:3 or APS-C sensor would be perfect for me on a usage
POV. Make it WR and I'm sold :p
I don't caer much a bout a fixed lens if:
- it is a optically good and bright
- sensor isn't crappy.

Since you can find DSLRs with street prices in the $400-$500 range, that
are relatively compact it looks like a mighty thin slice to me.
