The P1000 has a 3000mm lens. Out of stock everywhere. Small sensors are very noisy at higher iso. It's all forgiven if I don't see CA or purple fringing. -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to pdml-le...@pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the

Didn't know "veld" was part of the English language. Apparently it migrated from NL to SA and from SA to UK. They sure are a challenge for DSLR. On Sat, 10 Apr 2021 at 10:56, Alan C wrote: > > No, not dreaming. That's how good they are now. My wife's older Fuji > only does JPEG yet mostly

Unbelievable to get these results for this long reach without need to crop. Very little noise.  Most noise is of course introduced with the brightening of shadows. You may have put me on a track as I am lacking lenses longer than 300 mm. Henk Op 2021-04-10 om 10:11 schreef Toine: The P950

No, not dreaming. That's how good they are now. My wife's older Fuji only does JPEG yet mostly performs just as well as my K5. IMHO the Superzooms & Mirrorless are serious challengers to the DSLR's. BTW, I'm surprised you don't say "veld" which has long been an accepted English word in SA.

The P950 arrived yesterday evening. It's a very ugly contraption and feels like a plastic toy of 1 kg. Charged the battery and this morning the first test shots at the worst conditions possible (grey, drizzle, dark) which required high iso (800-1600) and slow shutter speeds (1/60 1/125) at 2000mm

I have been considering the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2000. It may not have a extremely long reach (24-480 mm), but it has a 1 inch sensor that is much improvement compared to those of standard compact camera's. On the other hand, it means I would no longer take along my Pentax DSLR's which, though

I'm very seriously thinking about a nikon p950 or sony rx10iv for long walks. The p950 is very tempting, the sony has about the same range as my da300 and tc. Probably the best image quality. So yes an addition to the dslr. On Sat, 3 Apr 2021, 20:10 Larry Colen, wrote: > > > > On Apr 3, 2021,
