I actually think such a camera is a good idea.
Simplify metering, too. Mebbe CW and Spot.
Take the LCD off to further reduce cost and
battery consumption. You wanna see your pix
onsite, you take a laptop. I'd be interested.

The cheapo zoom that sells with the 300D does not fit the 1Ds and the film
cameras. Not sure if it works with the D60/10D.
All true EF lenses will work with the 300D.

I know very little about Canon, but evidently these EF-S lenses for thr
Rebel D would work on any of the film Canons. Is this ture? If so, is
this current EF-S zoom the only lens available for the Rebel D?

This is not true. The only lens like this is the very cheap zoom that was
introduced along with the 300D. All their other lenses are fully EF

Must be a British thing. :)

UPDATE:
The basic mod is pretty simple -- changing M to A.
And you don't have to modify anyting.
1) set the lens to the minimum aperture. f22, etc.
2) short the A pin to the body or lens. Use a piece of foil or 32 awg wire.
Without the lens information pins you'll not get matrix metering but

Setting aside the rights and wrongs of Pentax's decisions, can we agree
that the idea of getting K/M lenses working better on the *istD is
interesting? The routes would seem to be:
A) Waiting for Pentax to bring out a body with a non-crippled mount. I
doubt that this is going to happen. The *is
