This is another version of Snow in the City, taken a minute or so
earlier. The out-of-focus is perhaps not as obvious, although pretty
much the same. It lacks the color of my original Snow in the City
post, however, so I like the original one better, even with the more
obvious focus problem.
Dan,
Like the snow, just wish the people were sharper.

Dan,
After reading the whole thread, let me hake a suggestion.
Larry's Hyperfocal Distance by using the scale on the lens isn't bad,
but you might want to combine a flash with this to light the flakes.
This will make them stand-out.

Something I would have tried is using reduced power onboard flash to
illuminate and stop the snow flakes.

artistic.
It doesn't always, or some might say often, work but I occasionally like the
results. Oddly, out of focus photos tend to work better with this, than
sharply focused photos.

I think it would work if the snow had been falling a lot harder, so that
the visible snow in the foreground gives your brain a reason for the
background being OOF.
From: Daniel J. Matyola
I agree. What I wanted was the snow more in focus than the
background, but the background just a LITTLE
I agree. While we had almost two inches at home (New Jersey) there
was only a brief and light show shower in the city. That made it
easier to grab a cab, but harder to grab an image of the falling snow.

I like it, too!
It just works. Don't know why, either, it just does.
