I've felt for a very long time that certain members put a chill on topics,
whether on or off topic ones because of the way they comport themselves on
list.
You've just had a taste of the sour icicle from the sounds of it.
It's too bad when topics are known to be essentially undiscussable, even

Thanks for the suggestion. My Gmail account is currently sitting idle waiting

There's about 2-3 years of PDML on my Gmail account. Still use only
20% of it. Mmm I'mnot in a hurry to find another solution ;)

Hummm. Notice when someone gets pissed off enough to leave for a

Or is that the purpose.
Can't help but wonder.

Always enjoy your reasoned insightful posts. I understand, but regret
your decision.
I couldn't deal with the PDML volume without a filter.

Mmm maybe using a Gmail address would be easier? That's what I do. I
have only my mailing lists (PDML and another one) on this email

I never mix mailing lists and other mails for the very reason you

OK - I'll look into this. I'm using a web based service (Bluebottle) for PDML.
I can't set up subject-based filters through the web interface but the service
allows fetching mail via email clients like Eudora and (hopefully) KMail.
I'll experiment and see what happens.
Cheers

Gmails filters are just as easy to set up.
Gmail filters are a godsend. I am unable to filter at the server with my
isp, everything just gets dumped when I download my email with my client. By

I've tried Thunderbird but found it confusing - I've been using Eudora since
about 1995 and have become very comfortable in the way it works. KMail seems
to operate in much the same way on Linux which is why I'll probably use it.
