Tim, Most of what I'm interested in scanning are BW negatives, which do NOT work with ICE at all. ICE is an excellent aid/convenience if you have older negatives/ slides that are both compatible and slightly damaged or dusty. I've worked with several scanners that supported it but never

ICE works fine on chromes, except for Kodachrome. Shel If you're not scanning chromes or silver-based BW negatives, ABSOLUTELY! It's saved me untold hours of spotting scanned negatives.

Frank, I have a Canon 8400F. It comes with 35mm strip, 35mm slide and medium format carriers. I've had decent luck scanning print film. I wouldn't recommend it for slides. A little photochopping has been required for everything scanned thus far. Knowing now the cons of using a flatbed
