this weekend asking me if the item I am selling is the same as the
one at a link, but the link goes to a page to download some sort of
file. I have no intention of downloading something that may be a virus.
Anyone know
What's the URL?

Got to be a spoof. The domain 'aw-signin.150m' is not an eBay one. If
you go here:
Interestingly the file that downloads is a JS file without an
extension. It should produce a realistic eBay signin page but it has
no extension. Signin there and it e-mails your user ID and password
somewhere else entirely.

actual link status line shown. You may even Righclick - Properties to
see where this link gets you. If it's not eBay.com long side many
subdomains

I just never respond to any ebay or paypal emails and report them to

One quick way to pick up on something like that being
fake - What would have tipped me off is the Respond
Now button. I don't think Ebay puts that in emails
any more - there's just a grayed out box saying
Respond to this in 'My Messages', and it's not even
a link.

Jay,
I got a similar message out of the UK.
When I tried to look for the sender, it said that AOL user was busy.
When I clicked the Respond Now button, it asked for a log-in.
That's when I quit.
The easy way to check those is on your My Ebay.
It lists your My Messages.
When I check, nothing was
If you get an email from eBay or PayPal that asks you to click on a
link, and you haven't specifically requested it, rest assured it is
fraudulent. I spend several hours a day running down these 'phishing' scams.

message that a higher bid came in on the item, but when the item ended,
I didn't get the expected you've lost the bid, but actually I won the
bid, with the explaination that the winner withdrew his bid. And to
assure you: I

up. I had something similar happen to me a few months ago. Someone outbid me
