warning to those considering the pentax-m 100mm macro: I have seen a very large percentage of these lenses with haze in the glass near the rim of the front glass element. the earlier k version doesnt seem to have the problem. I think it must be something to do with the cement used.

there are two versions of the tamron. one with 49mm filter thread and a later version with a 55mm filter thread. which one did you test? I think they are the same optically so it probably doesnt matter much other than build quality, the 49mm version one is superior to the 55mm version.
