Re: PESO:: Green Sea Turtles
Thanks for looking Jack. I agree with you, but the turtles were gathered together in a tight group, with one's fin often resting on its neighbor's back. Much like the sea lions on Pier 39 in SF. I just tried to focus on an interesting one and exclude as much of its surroundings as I could. Re: WTF??? The Mystery of Life
Severe clear here. 33°F, wind out of the NW at 9 knots - felt like 22° ... or so says the weatherman - I felt like it was 40 below!!! But I didn't COMPLETELY botch the photos. They look usable from full moon to about 95% eclipsed - nothing I can see there during the totality - and then from about 95% back to the full moon I have usable images again. My quick glance as I went through them while downloading, I'm not sure if I caught much of the "blood" aspect. I used a timer to take a photo about every 7 minutes. I ended up moving the tripod & camera a couple of times. The second time I positioned my Jeep as a wind break and sat in it counting minutes until I thought it was getting close to time for the next frame, then getting out to make sure the camera did take the next frame. I have two Phottix TR-90 timers and used both, switching between them about half-way through because by then my hands were too numb to change the batteries in them. As soon as I stop shivering I'll get back on the computer and see if I can put together an image adequate for a PESO. I've concluded that it's not paranoia if they really ARE out to get you. Got 1 half-way decent shot of the eclipse
Visiting our friends in North Carolina and staying at their cabin in the Blue Ridge. The skies were very clear but I was woefully under equipped: K-1 with the DFA 28-105 and NO tripod! Braced the camera on the rood of a car and took several dozen shots, only one of which is worth showing. https://www.robertstech.com/temp/7e300226a.jpg -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Re: quick and dirty hdr of the end of the eclipse
Not bad. A little lacking in definition but still fascinating. Thanks for shooting it. Too damn cold here, I was sound asleep.
