Re: What Pentax gear is on your shopping (or wish) list?

2023-01-15 Thread Godfrey DiGiorgi
Similarly, it's been quite a few years since I worked with Pentax cameras. I do
still have one Pentax lens … the L39 mount version of the superb 43mm Limited
(SMC-Pentax-L 43mm f/1.9 Special) which was and is my all-time favorite Pentax
lens. I use it on my Leica cameras where it never fails to produce superb
results.

Salsa Beargrease custom build :: https://flic.kr/p/2iR8Pe2

And, in general, I have all the equipment I can possibly use … and more … so
buying more camera equipment is something I only do very very occasionally
these days, with a lot of thought beforehand.

It's a male British House Sparrow, Passer domesticus. Generally regarded as a

Re: PESO: Kaikoura Beach

2023-01-15 Thread David Mann
Thanks for the comments, everyone. Ralf, adding a touch of yellow did cross my
mind but it was getting late and adjusting colours is something I sometimes
struggle with. I might have a look at trying some other time.

The ominous-looking sky was nowhere near as bad as that in real life. It was
more broken up over the ocean and the sun was in and out during our time there.

Cheers,

sadly, acceptance for listing doesn't mean sales..   I  was in ANIMALS

them anything in years -  once they started taking digital stuff I didnt
have the equipment to get them up to size demands...

I have a few thousand photos on my smgumug web page - not all are listed
for sale.. but I have sold from it, as recently as last week...

Re: What Pentax gear is on your shopping (or wish) list?

2023-01-15 Thread Henk Terhell
My preferred lens is the 55-300 PLM, that is very useful for butterflies
and dragonflies.
For this I had to buy the K-70.
The reasons are:
- my K-1 is losing too much resolution with this lens.
- I will never buy a K3-III while I use live view in many situations.
- KP not being available.
APSC is a suitable format for me.
In case there is no follow up with a new K3-III (having tilted screen!) in
time and there was a failure of my gear, I would switch to Fuji such as the
XT5.

I’m actually content with my gear. I really like my K-5 and have no desire to
buy a newer body.

I do wish that my 17-70 was weatherproof, or that my wife’s 18-85 was wider at
the short end. Oh, and that my 80-320 was sharper.

The 24-70/2.8 is my most used “normal” lens. It’s a reliable workhorse and
quite sharp even wide open. I too would like the K3-3, but at my age I can’t
spend like I once did, so my K-3 and K-1 will suffice.
