Thanks to all who commented or had a look. In the hours since this tragedy it’s
become obvious that the cathedral can be restored. I will take year -- Macron
says 5 years — but it will be worth the wait.

A House Finch, imported from England to be sold as pets. Now fairly common
throughout the U.S. They make lousy pets but pretty backyard birds:
