Yes, the second is quite effective; I like the reflection of the blue
lights in the water.
When we were in Venice, nothing made me happier than to see the cruise
ship heading out again.

The first one works well enough for the scale with the approaching
behemoth for me - like the composition better with the line of boats
going toward the giant and the gondolier is nicely placed.
The second good for the wow factor only in terms of the boat size -
but not quite as nice
