OK I decided to have another look at the rendering and I've been learning a lot 
more about Adobe Camera Raw in the process.

I've boosted the exposure a bit, tweaked the colour and applied some (well, a 
lot of) noise reduction, masking out the areas where I wanted to keep fine 
detail.  I've also toned down the white background highlights a little.  I am 
absolutely loving the adjustment brush tool.  It would be nice to have 
Photoshop-style selection tools but I think I can cope.

I wasn't planning to spend my whole evening doing photo editing but it's nice

Thanks everyone for the feedback.  Due to shooting wide-open and having the 
exposure wrong I wasn't expecting much so I was pleasantly surprised to have 
them come out so well.  I might revisit the rendering if I get some time later.

These are another one that rarely sits still, but they're quite a bit tamer.  
They eat insects, mostly caught on-the-wing.
