You probably want that hub to be powered (i.e. coming with its own power
supply), with a sufficient power. Also, you want USB-3.0 (backward
compatible with 2.x). (I am not sure if you have a need for USB-3.1
outlets).
I've been happily using Pluggable 7-port USB-3.0, model USB3-HUB7-81X:
The last time I bought a USB hub was in 2015; I'm sure there are others out
there now…
That one is a powered 4-port USB3 hub with a big "+P" logo in the middle of its
face that I purchased from Fry's Electronics when I upgraded my hard drive
enclosures to USB3. It's been working perfectly
I would check OWC, they usually have peripherals that cohabit nicely with Macs.
Whatever I use I am sure came from them (but I am not at home and can’t provide
details right next.)

Hi All:
I’m in the market for a USB hub to plug into my MacBook Pro/Retina 2013. I’d
like at least 3 USB ports in the hub for external drives. The Belkin on the
Apple web site didn’t have good reviews.
Can anyone recommend a good hub?
Cheers, Christine
