(Doyle) Your position I am critical (mildly and friendly) of centered upon theboring quality of what the left puts out. So let's talk about that. Whatcan we say? For example you use the word, boring, which is an emotionalresponse on your part. I take that seriously in terms of understanding

Boredom is not an emotion. I also don't think it even was a word that I used
initially; it was yours. I hasn't even originally been talking about what
one hears coming from the stage in mass rallies, which is mostly
unimportant. I turned down an offer tos peak for

Max, this is hardly a central issue to the peace movement

I said nothing whatsoever about speakers at mass
rallies, a topic I was not addressing. As matter of
fact I do think speakersa t mass demos are boring, but
since the right doesn't hold mass rallies, by and
large, there's no contrast class to compare right wing
to left wing speakers. jks

He wasn't banned, he was initially not invited. The people who were
representing him at the meeting were asked if they had any
objections; they didn't. A week later Lerner charged that he was
banned because ANSWER is anti-semitic.
I believe that he was finally given fifteen minutes to speak:

Speaking of
Lerner, I once had a personal experience that makes me very leery of him,
independent of his reputation as a personal empire-builder among many
progressive Jews.*Back in

You haven't explored these areas, and instead have concentrated in alack of talent on the left for shining in puerile broadcast television. That games aren't boring and why isn't on your agenda for this discussion offeeling coming out of the left? Am I being harsh toward you? I respect youenough to

there lots of progressive Jews out there?

It's a little strong but not out to lunch.
There are lots of progressives who happen to be
Max and others on the list have written at length about Lerner on the LBO.
Jim, who like me saw the turd operating in Berkeley, probably knows the
problems with Lerner.
I would much rather we learn about how to stop the war than to dwell on
personalities who are disrupting the anti-war movement.

Greetings Economists,
Max replies to Jim Devine,
Lots of people have cited stories that reflect badly
on his personal habits and organizational style. But
the fact remains that he has put something real
together, and most of us are just posting to the
Internet.
