i have windows 2000 and office 2000, both in english, and have enabled
right-to-left languages and farsi in the windows regional settings and in
the office tools language settings. result: i can basically type in farsi,
but in excel weird things happen, e.g. if i type a

That's a famous bug that will happen in applications. KDE also had
that bug for quite a time until Behdad fixed it. The bug is because
the application or the rendering engine asks the font for a glyph for
the character, where it shouldn't.
