BenchmarkSQL is open source, but, I don't think anyone has published version
5.2 yet on pgFoundry. Amongst other goodies, version 5.2 allows for the
running of Java based tpcC and/or tpcB like benchmarks from the command line
or the cutsie gui. We've also added consistency checks to the end of
. If anyone’s interested in expertly tackling such a community project, with some financial sponsorship from EDB, please contact me privately.

Hi All,
My company (EnterpriseDB) is very interested
in helping to make ANSI-ISO SQL Stored Procedures part of standard BSD
Postgres. The SQL/PSM standard is currently
used in DB2 and is being implemented in MySQL 5.0. Note
that I'm NOT a big fan of adding Oracle compatibility to PL/pgSQL,
ot; :-) in mind.

I personally think it's an
interesting idea. Is there a business scenario where you want/need to do
this?? I think it'd be kinda cool for a trigger to be able to write out an
audit record with the dml sql (along with the typical old, and new v
l rdbms performance.
Please email me privately if there is some way EntepriseDB may be able
to help.

At EnterpriseDB we're doing a
little project along these lines. In our lab, and soon for our
company, we are running SugarCRM on EDB-Postgres. Alas you say, but
SugarCRM only supports MySQL:
EDB ships a nifty java based E
vtiger crm (http://www.vtiger.com)
vtiger is a fork of sugarcrm and are 100% commited to open
source. (unlike sugar, who offer the full version only
for purchase)
and they actively want to support more databases.

EnterpriseDB is a clone AND a fork. :-) We work hard to free customers from Oracle vendor lock-in AND stay up with the latest releases and patches of Postgres AND don't break any Postgres native and/or ANSI functionality.
