Can someone tell me which init script causes the black screen with no
flashing cursor bug? I'd like to try and get rid of it. I've seen
/etc/init.d/rcS and I don't think that's it, since it calls /sbin/fix_menu

Well, I was thinking of something very very simple, like sound features you find in
cell phones. At least just a beep you can set the frequency and duration for various
events. En/disabling would be done globally, for whole classes of events, much like
you see on cell phones or on the Palm.
