I think this is a bug in the scrolling code. I've recently come across
the same thing with X-Chat's new PicoGUI frontend. Right now i thought
i'd give the X11 rootless mode a bit of effort, but after that i'm
going to be working hard on the textbox and scrolling issues. Web

I'll keep this in mind as a needed feature for the textbox widget. If
anyone needs this cabability quickly though, it could be added to the
field widget.

"text" frontend is next to useless, but now there is a third option,
fe-picogui.
While much remains to be done, it is already usable for chat.
