A very good friend of mine, and longtime 78rpm Collector, passed away recently.
I just came from his widows house, and went through some of the remnants of his
collection, much of which he had already sold off a few years ago. She needs to
raise some funds, and I will be selling off in the

NO PROBLEM
YOUR GREED
Unless one knows the weight of the packed shipment, a buyer can't really
tell if the shipper is off the mark with his shipping costs, and I believe
he Marek in Canada, right? Shipping from Canada is always more expensive in
my experience. If you want an inflated price for shipping try the $10 I
I once dealt with Mirek and he was similarly nasty with me.

I've dealt with him several times.
All pleasant experiences, and great quality merchandise.
Doing business across the border costs more than doing business across the
street, that's just a fact of life.

Folks who deliberately try to stuff their pockets with your money by
deliberately inflating the shipping costs on an item, are nothing short of
despicable . That is a fact !!

Agreed. I charge exact shipping and I usually have boxes onhand. If I have to
buy new boxes I might charge $1 or so. Sometimes you have to pay the cost of
doing business as a courtesy. I have found that it builds repeat customers.

Whoa,
Many people that make parts come and go. Good quality reproduction parts can
turn a machine useful and displayable until an original part can be found if
at all.
I take a different view, I'm very thankful all these people do what they do
and I doubt they are getting rich and perhaps in many

What kind of condition was the Idelia in? $20,000 does not seem like a record
price.

Mike - I agree with you
I have purchased several parts from Mirek and have always been very
satisfied with both the quality and the cost which is only a fraction
of what an original part would cost - assuming you could find one.
As far as shipping goes, it is expensive to ship out of the

I just got a price on a 5pound box, 9x9x9 inches, from Mirek's town to
mine, with $500 insurance: $23.19 Canadian.
Mirek's shipping charge seems reasonable and non-profit, to me
