Did the early Edison business phonographs have the standard length of
record? I am talking about the wooden case ones that came out before the
Ediphone. I also have a celluloid 'blue Amberol' type of Ediphone six inch
record, how were these recorded on? Mine is from a bank.
Mine has a 6 mandrel, as did all Edison Biusiness phonos, I believe
and somebody needs to take it off my hands for $500 or an offer!

I thought so but this 4 inch cylinder has fabric reinforcement so it puzzled
me. I assume the cylinders had the fabric for high speed shaving.

Edison Cylinder Phonograph Companion beginning on page 326. These machines
were
first described in the April and May 1903 issues of the Edison Phonograph
Monthly, and referred to as Commercial Phonographs.
