[Phono-L] ITEMS FOR SALE

2013-07-30 Thread Shawn O'Rourke
Folks,

I have a couple of items for sale if you have interest. All items plus
shipping to you.

1 - A very nice original Columbia recorder, most likely for a Q or Eagle. It
comes in an original, though worn box. The original diaphragm is present and
intact, though the cutter is missing. It looks like it will clean up nicely
- $55.00

2 - Two very nice reproduction black leather elbows for your early Victor,
Columbia, Zonophone, or Berliner machine. These are nicely made leather
elbows suitable for use on an early front mount machine. $25.00 each.

3 - Original, very rare 15 all-brass seamless horn for an early Edison or
Columbia cylinder phonograph. In excellent original condition. This early
horn is made the same as band instruments of the day. It has a single
zipper seem straight up the middle of the horn. These horns are rarely
found. When seen, they have many times been polished. This horn retains
its original patina. If has a few dents, but nothing significant. It is a
wonderful example of a very early and rare horn. $500.00

4 - Edison Blue Amberol - 5445 - Good News - Fox Trot Dave Kaplan His
Orchestra. Excellent condition with no issues and original box. The tune is
snappy and recognizable. It was recorded in 1927, getting close to the end
of the Blue Amberol series which ended in 1929. $150.00

5 - Edison Blue Amberol - 5500- My Blue Ridge Mountain Home - Fox Trot B.A.
Rolfe His Orchestra. Excellent condition with no issues and original box.
The tune is snappy and recognizable. It was recorded in 1928, getting close
to the end of the Blue Amberol series which ended in 1929. $150.0

6 - A beautiful little Columbia Q cylinder phonograph with an original Q
reproducer and an original 10 cone horn. This is the case less version with
the black stenciled base. The phonograph is in excellent condition
throughout. The early, black-plated bedplate is clean with only a few areas
of missing paint. The nickel-plated parts are clean as well. . The original
Graphophone stenciling on the bedplate, many times wiped out is nearly
perfect. This is the nicest Q that I've seen in quite a while, the ideal
antique cylinder phonograph to own if space is at a premium. The machine is
in excellent operating condition, too, the motor is strong, and the governor
keeps a steady speed. It will play an entire cylinder plus with one
winding. The reproducer is especially nice, playing clear and loud, loud,
loud!!! The cone horn is possibly the best part of this machine. It is truly
stunning. $550.00

If you have interest, please email me at mshawnorou...@gmail.com. I have
pictures of these items as well.

Thank you

Shawn

[Phono-L] Cool battery Jar For Sale

2013-03-23 Thread Michael Shawn O'Rourke
FOR SALE:

A very nice blue porcelain battery jar. Battery Jars such as this would have
been used singly, or in tandem to power early phonographs, fans, and other
devices. This one is special, in that it is in blue porcelain, not the
normal white. Additionally, the jar itself is porcelain over steel, while
the lid is ceramic. There are no cracks or other damage, other than normal
wear, age, etc. A super cool display piece.

Pictures are available!

Price is $100.00 plus shipping. I can also deliver this to the Wayne show in
a couple of weeks. No PayPal on these items, but I ship promptly with a
check.

[Phono-L] FOR SALE - Very Rare Montgomery Ward Catalog - Reproduction

2013-01-07 Thread Michael Shawn O'Rourke
I have for sale a high, high quality reproduction of a very rare 1898
catalog. This 16 page catalog was produced by Montgomery Ward. Interestingly
enough, It introduced some of the most important and rare machines known
today including the Edison H coin-op, Universal Talking Machine coin-op,
Polyphone, and Trade Mark Berliner. There are 16 pages chalked full of great
information on early phonographs and gramophones. The reproduction was made
directly from the original catalog. It was done using high-quality paper
consistent with the original. This is a chance to get the benefit of great
early information from a rare catalog, without having to pay the rare
catalog price!

Pictures available on request,

I've only had a limited number of reproduction catalogs made. When they're
gone, I don't plan to have any more made. The price is $20.00 which includes
USPS Priority shipping in the USA.

[Phono-L] Columbia No 1 Cylinder Record Cabinet

2012-10-30 Thread Michael Shawn O'Rourke
I have a super nice cabinet for sale. It is early as well. Around 1900,
Columbia produced a line of record cabinets. This is the style number one,
and I believe the nicest of them all. It is a perfect small size, with great
detail. It has the original pulls and finish. I prefer this cabinet to any
for look and function. it originally came with 75 wooden pegs. Those are not
present in this cabinet, but have been reproduced by others in the collector
community.
This one would be more expensive to ship, but I would if you had interest. I
can deliver it to the Stanton auction in November. The price is $750.00. I
can email pictures upon request.

[Phono-L] ITEMS FOR SALE

2012-07-06 Thread Shawn O'Rourke
FOR SALE - Really great all brass c24 inch cylinder horn with a 9 inch
bell. The horn is solid with only minor dings. It is excellent horns to use
on a machine as it is not too big, but not too small either. The nine inch
bell makes this distinctive, and of a very pleasing proportion. Pictures
available upon request It is priced to sell at $150.00, plus shipping to
you

FOR SALE - Are 25 Concert Cylinder pegs for an early concert cylinder
cabinet or carrying case. 18 of these are of recent manufacture and would
need some minor additional shaping/ smoothing to be complete. There are 7
that look very old and appear to be from an original cabinet or carrying
case. I’ve reduced these to “get them gone” pricing. I don't think you
would even be able to buy the wood stock to make these for what I've priced
them. Priced at $35.00, plus actual shipping only. A picture is available
upon request.
FOR SALE - A Hawthorn and Sheble nickel plated crank. These were found on
the early Hawthorn and Sheble under glass cabinets. They could also be
used on other machines. This one is very nice with decent nickle and a
nice handle. Priced at $175.00, plus actual shipping only. A picture is
available upon request.

[Phono-L] 25 Cylinder Blanks for Sale

2012-06-19 Thread Shawn O'Rourke
I have 25 Concert Cylinder blanks for an early concert cylinder cabinet. I
say blanks as 18 of these are of recent manufacture and would need some
minor additional shaping/ smoothing to be complete. There are 7 that look
very old and appear to be from an original cabinet. They appear to be ready
to use.

I believe I've priced these very conservatively. The blanks are of a solid
stock of hardwood. I don't think you would even be able to buy the wood
stock to make these 19 for what I've priced them.

If you need to complete a concert cylinder cabinet, these would put you way
ahead of the game!

Price is $75.00, plus actual shipping only.

[Phono-L] Holiday Sale

2011-12-03 Thread Shawn O'Rourke
I have several items available for sale today! All are available through
this list and others. Packing is free, shipping is whatever it costs to get
it safely to you. Pictures available upon request. If you have interest,
just email me at mshawnorou...@gmail.com

Edison Triumph A - I have only dusted off the dirt. It is an Edison Triumph
in the earliest green oak case. This one has the square corners, indicating
an early case. Even more special, there is a neat celluloid dealer tag! The
tag reads Jacot Music Box Co 39 Union Square New York. This is a very
respectable machine. The motor is strong. All gears mesh well, and it runs
very quiet with good solid springs. The upper works are really clean with
most of the pen-striping present. There is a little belt slippage that
should be able to be corrected with a tighter belt, or tighten the pulley.
I'm leaving all the fine adjustments up to the new owner! There is original
finish throughout. The case is very nice with an excellent decal. And again,
a super cool dealer tag! There are no extra holes or any veneer damage on
the lid. It could look even better with a little cleaning. There is no horn.
The original square hole crank and a very nice early model C reproducer come
with this machine.

The first $875.00 takes it.

Edison Standard Model A. Here we have a machine straight from the owners
house. It is an Edison Standard in an early green oak case. Overall, this
one is a nice machine as is, and with a little attention, would be a really
great piece. The motor is strong. All gears mesh well, and it runs very
quiet with a good solid spring. You can see a previous repair, or braze, on
the speed control arm. This is solid, works fine. The upper works are really
clean with most of the pen-striping present. There is original finish
throughout. The case is very nice with some obvious denting on the front,
most probably due to crane. There are no extra holes or any veneer damage on
the lid. It would really spiff up with a little cleaning. There is no horn,
and no crank. It came with most of a model H reproducer. It also came with
an original chip brush (or most of it)

The great news, I'ts cheap. The first $215.00 takes it.

Early Columbia Crank - Here we have another really nice item! it is an
unusual, early Columbia crank. The knob secured on by a screwed in post
rather than a rivet is the clue that this is a super early crank. It has an
early knob as well. Overall, nice plating, all original little piece. A
great upgrade for an early Columbia disk or cylinder machine. It should work
well on several early models!

The first $65.00 takes it.

Edison Dictaphone Reproducer - An unusual piece, in super condition. This
is clearly for a Dictaphone. However, I put it in a regular Edison
carriage, and it played a record very well!. This one looks to be complete
and all original

The first $25.00 takes it.
