Subject: [Phono-L] Victrola XII (VV-XII) knobs
Greetings! Can anyone out there tell me the diameter of a proper set of door
knobs for a Victrola XII? Digital caliper measurements appreciated, if
possible. Thanks!

The casting of the XII is totally unique to that model but aren't some of the
components like the spring barrels and governor common with other motors of the
same period? If you found a good motor casting, could you build a XII motor
from that? Jerry Blais

Hello,
Have a friend who just bought a Victrola XII minus the motor/motor board and
crank.
Anyone have these parts?? He is interested in completing this machine.
Thanks,

Hi, all. I'm looking for a crank for my Victrola XII. Not only don't I
have the crank, but I've never actually seen one, so if anyone has one that
they don't want to sell but would be willing to send me a photo of it
(preferably with dimensions), I would appreciate it. I had thought, once

O.K., I've checked around on this one and now I need some advice. I have a
Victrola XII which I've been restoring for some time now, and it's coming
along well. The motor is in fine shape, with one exception: The winding
shaft. At some point its its history, the tip broke off. I'm not sure

I think the ball bearing idea sounds like a great remedy. You could
probably find an original replacement crank on eBay if you looked long
enough. And these folks would know the resources to contact for an original
replacement if you wanted to just buy one.

Does that crank go in too far to make it usable or unsightly as-is? If not
why not just leave it as is.
I had a table top VV-X that had the same problem. When I screwed the crank
on it simply moved the crank in 1/4

I think the ball bearing idea is the easiest way out, as long as it is
small
enough to drop out of the crank easily.

I've been reading about this crank problem, and tgrying to figure out an
easy way out. From what I can perceive, the crank has had the end cut off?
Or is there some problem with the female part in the motor?
If the crank has a problem
