[PHP-DB] ODBC and PHP

I´m using PHP 4 with ODBC and sometimes I get a response that was unable to connect to the MSSQL database. Then I go to the ODBC configuration to test the connection and I get a response that everything is working fine, but my pages still can´t connect. Is that normal? What can I do? I´m using
