Now that the pressing problems have been fixed in the CVS I'd like to
branch 4.0.6 and release an RC1.
Any objections?
Maybe call it beta 1 just to see how it fairs?

We're not in betas anymore but releasing minor versions. RC1 is the beta
for 4.0.6
