RE: [PHP] Zend Optimizer not installed
Hi Ox I'm UK based but currently use GlobalServers in the US (www.globalservers.com). They run Virtual Private Servers of 3 levels, 2 of which allow root access. They do claim to run Zend Optimizer but as yet I have not determined if this is active on my account. Hi Ox, Does anyone know of a hosting company that will provide Zend Optimizer v2.1.0 or later on a VIRTUAL hosting package. (preferably in the UK) I'm with Lunarpages ( http://www.lunarpages.com ) on a virtual hosting server and they have Zend Optimizer installed. However, I do not know what version they are running on. [PHP] Zend Optimizer 2.5.1 + PHP5 RC1 + WinXP + Apache 2 not happy together?
I've installed Apache and PHP5 RC1 fine, added my needed modules fine, then I installed Zend Optimizer 2.5.1 and it doesn't load? phpinfo() doesn't show it as loaded. php.ini is in the correct place and PHP is reading it. php.ini has the Zend Optimizer lines at the bottom as added by the installer. I don't think Zend Optimizer can work with PHP 5 by the moment. [PHP] Zend Optimizer under Linux Sparc
It appears as if the Zend Optimizer is distributed only in binary format. They have versions for Linux on i386 and versions for Solaris running on a Sparc Ultra processor. [PHP] Zend Optimizer
Ok, I've searched the archives and even contacted the Zend staff on this one, and I'm still confused. I also posted this question at the Zend Optimizer Forum but have not received an answer. I'm hoping one of you has some idea of how the Zend Optimizer works and can explain it. My webhost offers PHP 4 on Linux/Apache with the Zend Optimizer (v0.99) Engine (v1.0.3) and I have checked phpinfo() to make sure it's installed and running. I would like to optimize a particular function that generates a graph image on the fly. What do I need to do make use of the Zend Optimizer? Is it used automatically or do I first need to compile the code into a binary file? If someone knows a great source of info on this (other than www.zend.com), that would be helpful too. Re: [PHP] Zend Optimizer
It should perform the optimizations automatically. However, the bottleneck in your case will be your image manipulation library (GD, ImageMagic, etc..), and you most likely won't see much of a speed increase with the optimizer. /* Chris Lambert, CTO - [EMAIL PROTECTED] WhiteCrown Networks - More Than White Hats Web Application Security - www.whitecrown.net */ - Original Message - From: Alfredeen, Johan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2001 11:33 AM Subject: [PHP] Zend Optimizer | Ok, I've searched the archives and even contacted the Zend staff on this | one, and I'm still confused.
