Like I said - I do see it in your and Ronald's first messages in this thread, but it seems not to be in the headers of many replies. I wonder if that's because the replies often already have the headers buried in them from one or more of the quoted messages. At any rate, I'm not trying to start anything here. I just wanted to make an observation since in the past (not in your response) I've seen people reply rather curtly when the question is asked. RE: [PHP] READ BEFORE REPLYING TO : Re: [PHP] UNSUBSCRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am posting, obviously, the 26th message in this thread. (or maybe higher). And I couldnt care less. I have efficiently deleted 20 000 messages from the PHP board (or around this number) last year without even getting close to read them. So, would you please tell me why the first message (out of 20 000 or so) I read contains -anything but PHP related crap- ... Actually, me - and you - are simply increasing the amount of total B**LSHIT in this list. Go figure why... you are actually not inclined to reply to whatever idiot actually writing to it.. Cheers Rob. -Original Message- From: GH [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, October 01, 2004 11:54 PM To: Mag Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [PHP] READ BEFORE REPLYING TO : Re: [PHP] UNSUBSCRIBE Dear EVERYONE WHO HAS POSTED OR WANTS TO POST IN THIS THREAD... If Ms. Holland managed to get herself off of this list she is not seeing any of this... however you seem to be FLAMING the rest of the board with information that is NOT PHP related NOR is it relevant to ANY DISCUSSION that pertains to a PHP related topic... i.e. PEAR/DataBase/Servers etc... CAN WE PLEASE CONSIDER THIS MATTER TO BE CLOSED? Twenty Four Messages (not counting this #25) of which almost 18 of them have been not relavent to this subject. Yes, yesterday it could be said that it was nice to have a joke at her blatent inability to not read the unsubscribe instructions even if they are at the end of each message! However, these messages have been either (1) Beating around the same bush again and again... or (2) Personal and Rude attacks at an individual. Can we please move on to more PHP related discussions... When do they have to click stay subscribed -- each time they log-in, or read an email, or what? She seems quite sure. We deal with both European and US clients (world wide to be honest, but most other countries don'e care about this.. do they?) Other countries don't care? I most certainly do, and I'm from Australia. I think you meant to ask other countries don't have specific laws... do they? What you need is legal advice, not PHP advise. As such, this is really off topic, and frankly, if you're willing to trust the legal advice you receive on a mailing list such as this, that's pretty scary :) I will offer this piece of advice -- which is reasonably on-topic to application developers: Use common sense and common courtesy when it comes to this sort of stuff. Don't make it hard to unsubscribe, provide clear, simple instructions on how to unsubscribe on every email, remind them they signed up, remind them they can leave any time, and don't waste their time with worthless emails. If you do all that, you're going to be in good shape for most incoming laws, as long as the laws themselves are based on common sense. But don't take my advice as legal advice :) Justin -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
