I thought I'd provide some notes for my experience with cygwin because
it was not straightforward!
- Downloading and installing the default setup.exe from cygwin is not
sufficient. It does not come with any of the packages that you need by
default. I had to manually install the following:

Great, so do not install openjade or opensp with the instructions given,
but instead select them in the cygwin setup, and see if they work :)
