I am having an open studios show next weekend in San Francisco at Fort

Pinhole and Zone Plate photography. I am part of a group called the
Nocturnes so there will be 20+ photographers in the show (mostly Night

cameras. I have a zone plate and a pinhole. They are great. I am planning
on getting a lubitel and putting a zone plate in it so I can use if with a

I shoot zone plate and have been wondering how I could easily get a camera
with a shutter, due to the lack of being able to take shots faster than 1/2
second (bright daylight). How hard was it to modify the libitel? Looks
like there are dozens on ebay.

I have made some lightjet prints and find them quite beautiful. These are
certainly what many nature photographers are using for color output (for
example Galen Rowell http://www.mountainlight.com/gallery.html and Bill

Hi,
I shot a wedding last year using a Zone Plate camera. It went well, the
couple found 3-4 pictures out of the 24 taken that they really liked. I
find that the ZP camera works well due to the faster fstop which means that
I can get people shots with low-medium blur. I will check to see whethe

Ok, I've a question. I recently saw Martha Casanave's Lenin photos
(http://marthacasanave.com/lenin.html)
and I think they are beautiful. She uses a non-optimial pinhole, and I'd
like to know if people have any idea how much larger I would need to make
a pinhole to achieve this effect?

Hi,
Here is some context:
Iris printers started in the early 90s and they are high quality 4 color
inkjet devices. Companies like Nash Editions (http://www.nasheditions.com/)
were pioneers in using these devices for fine art prints.
By the late 90s consumer inkjet printers (epson, HP, etc) had a

Hi,
I use the MIS inks and have found them quite good. I researched piezo

and green shifting), and it is a completely open system (vs. custom sw from
piezo), and has warm and cold tone options. I have gotten two piezo p
Hi,
Has anyone calculated the effective resolution of the zeroimage multiformat
camera? I'd be also interested if anyone knew the resolution of the zeroimage

Thanks,

Hi,
My wife likes the holga cameras quite alot, and we get them from someone
who modifies them (we just got a holga with bulb setting). I just noticed
that he now sell two modifications that are pinhole versions.

Hi,
It is my understanding that these surveillance cameras have TV resolution
(330 pixels tall) so this will only be good for about a 1x1 or 2x2 print.
I also shoot digital (Sony 707) and am happy with the 8x10 and mostly happy
with the 11x14. This camera has 5M pixels so you would probably need

Hi,
Here is something to toss into the lull in our conversation
Last year I came across some portraits at the Fraenkel Gallery in SF and
was quite moved by them. In the same vein I recently took some Zone Plate
photos:

I agree that time is one of the dimensions that I really enjoy when experiencing
the pinhole camera. I started taking night photography last year which
has 1-30 minute exposures and that experience taught me that capturing time
and motion over time was a very different experience.

Agreed. I discovered the night photographers last year and find the imagery
quite intriguing. Also check out http://www.thenocturnes.com and click

Hi,
I have had this problem twice in 6 rolls. I think that if if pay close
attention to the alignment during takeup then things are ok. This is not
something I can just do quickly (or I get the problem you mentioned).

I am new to this community having received my Zero Image camera just last
