You need to install golang-go package. Currently, this will use Go 1.7. You can install golang-go from experimental to get Go 1.8. You can also just add /usr/lib/go-1.8/bin to your PATH. -- Program defensively. - The Elements of Programming Style (Kernighan & Plauger)
