Hi Shirish,

As I said last week, I plan to upgrade the openjfx package after the
Stretch release, once the OpenJDK 9 transition starts. But if someone
else (you?) wants to work on this update sooner I'll be happy to sponsor
his work.

Oops, not a programmer here. I mis-understood. I mis-read that you
would be making a release to experimental soonish.

So I'll wait.

I was browsing today and don't see it either in experimental or elsewhere.

tracker.debian.org/openjfx

I also viewed the git tracker to see if you might have uploaded it
there and not released but even there it doesn't seem to be IIUC -

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-java/openjfx.git/log/

Look forward to knowing your plans.

Note that openjdk-9 was mistakenly uploaded to unstable yesterday, it
should have remained in experimental. The transition to testing will be
blocked and openjdk-9 won't be part of Stretch, so there is no hurry to
package OpenJFX 9. Backports for Stretch will be provided though.

I would suggest to have a new package so people who are on java 8
aren't disturbed. While people who want to test out the java 9 and
openjfx 9 can look at that direction.

As we would be hitting full-freeze tonight, if you do go that way,
then hit experimental and see if you can make a release there.

Hi Shirish,

You are right, I plan to upgrade the openjfx package after the Stretch
release, once the OpenJDK 9 transition starts. I don't know yet if it's
preferable to upgrade the existing package, or create a new openjfx-9
package.
