Re: adobe flashplugin with jack support
On Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:51:57AM +0200, Robrecht Noens wrote: Hi, Hi! There now is jack support for flashplugin-nonfree. It's available at http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/contrib/f/flashplugin-nonfree-jack/;. Let me add that this plugin is only required if you want to output Flash to JACK without Pulseaudio. If you're using Pulseaudio, Flash would simply play to pulse which can then be redirected via pulseaudio-module-jack. Given that there is no amd64 Flash at the moment, and given that Pulse is the cross-distro desktop default, I don't see that much use in introducing an i386-only package that caters to the few who DO want Flash but DON'T want Pulse. Bug#584664: mplayer libvpx0
Package: mplayer Version: 2:1.0~rc3+svn20100603-0.0 This is a package from debian-multimedia, not main debian archive. You can either install libvpx0 from unstable (as I done) or downgrade mplayer to version 2:1.0~rc3+svn20100502-3 (from squeeze [main]) which is not linked with libvpx at all. --- Rinat ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

If you're using Pulseaudio, Flash would simply play to pulse which can then be redirected via pulseaudio-module-jack. Yes, but why have two sound-systems if you can do everything with one? Most audio programs do have a jack interface. Flash was the only thing I needed pulseaudio for. Why have the overhead of two sound systems?
