Video player with jack sync
Simple video player that receives sync from jackd or MTC.
It has applications in soundtrack creation, video monitoring or any task that
requires to associate movie frames with audio events.
 .
For instance when a jack-client (like Muse, Rosegarden or Ardour) acts as a
timebase master, xjadeo will display the video synchronized to jack transport.
xjadeo is capable to read Midi Time Clock as an alternate sync source and comes
 along with an optional QT-GUI.
 .
xjadeo reads only seekable media by default. Installing a transcoding utility
like mencoder or transcode is highly recommended.

Yes, I know. I hesitated for quite some time, as there is no such
thing like a homepage for ebml. There is an obsoleted page on
sourceforge (http://ebml.sourceforge.net/), but it contains
sentences like All people that are working on EBML are related to
Matroska so I found it wrong to point there. Also, the files on the
sourceforge server that they offer for download are at version 0.6,
i.e. out of date by ages.

In this particular case, this seems to be the (closest thing to a)

http://dl.matroska.org/downloads/libebml/

I disagree. This link is merely a directory of tarballs without any
informative value. I found that the page which was most able to
represent libebml was the specifications page of matroska. If you (and
maybe others) disagree, this is still subject to change, of course.

Which link is exactly broken? I couldn't find the symptoms that you

I would generally look at xxx.sf.net too, but apparently in this case
that page documents not the code project but the EBML _language_.

Following the link at the left side to Source code leads to a page
containing implementations of the EBML language, and the top one seems
to be our code project.

This is how I found the URL below.

In this particular case, this seems to be the (closest thing to a)

http://dl.matroska.org/downloads/libebml/

At the top of that page is a short intro on what this is, then links to
both language spec, SF project page and SVN. I find that to be valuable
info - if those URLs actually work, off course :-)

The libebml page intends to reference the Matroska EBML spec page, but
the link is broken (lacks a triling index.html - apparently the server

Second paragraph on the page, the link named Matroska specs. It links
to http://www.matroska.org/technical/specs/#EBML_ex which is a broken
page. Injecting index.html before the anchor make the link work:
http://www.matroska.org/technical/specs/index.html#EBML_ex (but a more
elegant fix if possible is the configure the www.matroska.org webserver
to serve index.html pages by default when / is requested).

If you do not get served the same web page as I describe above, then
perhaps there is some content negotiation happening, which needs more
debugging...

 - Jonas

Agree, but the format 3.0 (quilt) prevents me to patch EGG files
before they've unpacked.
Anyway, I am about to send upstream both quilt patch and that workaround above.

As an upstream author, I personally prefer having -dbg

Package: jokosher
Version: 0.11.5-2
Severity: minor
User: debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: python2.6

Hello,
One of the changes brought by Python 2.6 is the removal of string
exceptions, so they won't work in Python 2.6 (just a side note: they
were also buggy before, since they were not guaranteed to work
reliable even in 2.6); as an example:

$ python2.5 -c raise 'eggs'
-c:1: DeprecationWarning: raising a string exception is deprecated
Traceback (most recent call last):
File string, line 1, in module
eggs

$ python2.6 -c raise 'eggs'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File string, line 1, in module
TypeError: exceptions must be old-style classes or derived from BaseException,
not str

Since 2.6 is the planned default version for the upcoming new Debian
stable release, there are chances your package may be affected by this
change.

We are not sure your package is impacted, since the exception raise
can be in a dead or very rare branch of the code, and so simply never
being executed. We would like to leverage your package maintainer
status and the relationship with upstream authors to inspect more
deeply the issue and act accordingly (that includes: making this bug
release critical, closing it as irrelevant, tagging it 'wontfix', or
whatever is appropriate).

Jakub Wilk made the discovery of the problem and kindly prepared a
list [1] of all identified packages (downloaded on 2010-06-09) along
with files lines that triggered the pattern search.

This mass-bug filing was announced at 2010-06-06 on [2] (see the
thread and the references there).

We do not consider the whole situation a stopper for the Python
transition to 2.6, except (of course) for those single bugs where
severity will be increased.

Thanks in advance for your attention,
Sandro on behalf of debian-python
