Please, introduce the unstable version into wheezy (testing),
I can't, sorry.
We should ask for an exception !
We're quite late in the freeze, and the diff between the two versions is quite
large.
as a version before the changes needed to work after the licence change
does not match Debian release policy.
What problems does it have, exactly?
1. Major concern is an OSM api change in July. see (r5326, r5328, r5332,
r5333, r5334, r5346, r5349, r5350, r5351)
Could these be backported to 5267?
2. The redaction bot introduced hidden OSM object versions which led to NPEs
with the history viewer and validator.
Do you have specific commits fixing the above problems?
Unfortunately, Debian's release team won't accept the unstable JOSM version
into testing, as is. What I can (try to) do is backporting the patches to 5267,
and upload that to testing-proposed-updates.
Thanks for contacting me,
David
